We also offer the option to carry out PAT tester training courses on-site at your own premises.

Course Information

Our full day PAT training helps health and safety managers ensure that PAT testers understand the theory and practical aspects of testing portable electrical appliances safely. The PAT tester training courses include practical sessions where candidates can inspect and PAT test a variety of portable electrical appliances, including testing power tools, office and IT / PC / ICT equipment as well as IEC leads.

On-Site Training Courses

Maintaining portable, transportable & moveable electrical equipment in a safe condition is essential for managers and competent trained persons in the workplace. To help ensure staff receive the training they need, our on site PAT tester training courses can be arranged at a mutually agreeable time at premises anywhere in the UK.

Our experienced PAT Testing Instructors have trained personnel from many leading companies, organisations and charities - including Virgin, IKEA, BT, Carlsberg, Oxfam, Cancer Research, plus NHS Trusts and Hospitals, the Home Office & other Government organisations - as well as many Schools, Universities and Councils throughout the UK.

Our PAT tester Training Course includes theory and practical sessions, with trainees identifying cable faults, plug faults, fuse ratings and using PAT testing equipment. Our PAT testing course material includes references on HSE guidance notes, Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 (EAWR 1989), PUWER 1998 and the Health & Safety at Work Act.

To maximise the training at your company we need a quiet, safe room with 240V electrical power sockets, seats & tables + refreshments for the trainees. We also need a few extra tables for our equipment - we will provide the rest i.e. Class 1 & Class II portable electrical appliances including IT / PC equipment, extension leads, 110V power tools and ext leads for testing also IEC leads and chargers for testing. We also provide flip charts - course materials - example labels, writing materials, rulers, pens, IEE Code of practices and electrical portable appliance tester equipment (PAT Testers) for use during the On Site PAT testing training course. In-house courses can be customised to your individual requirements if necessary.

On-site courses start from £995+VAT.

    All our on-site PAT Test Courses include a FREE copy of the "IET / IEE Code of Practice 5th Edition" as well as personalised PAT Training Certificates for all staff.
